Go North Young Man, Go North

The weather for Salt Lake City and area is not good for the next few days so we decided to head farther north.  There is going to be wind all over the country today and tomorrow so we can't escape that, but our motor homes are heavy enough that these winds will not be a safety factor.  The gusts to make for some weaves and wobbles, but we are at that stage in our trip where we will be following I-15 which is a good wide 4 lane road.

Our neighbours dropped by to say goodbye after we got fired up.  Too bad we didn't get to spend much time with them.  I think we would have had fun.

First part of the trip was through Salt Lake City which seems to run forever.  Sue took some pictures just so you don't get bored.

Charlie was bored to death with the drive.

As you may have realized by now, I don't take kindly to the organic movement.  I hate it when money is made off of the naivety of people who believe the sky is falling.  Don't get me wrong, if you decide organic is the thing for you that is fine, but it is the people who maybe can't afford the expense who are being coerced into thinking they will die if they don't go that route.  Now here is an example of organic going over the top!!!

Sue had found a nice little spot up on the side of a hill for us for the night so we drove up this narrow little road for about a mile and came across a locked gate just a couple hundred yards from the camp area.  Sign said open April 16.   Woops.

By the time we got our bearings it had started to snow and get foggy so we decided we would stay right here on the road.  There was no indication of anyone being through the gate in a long time so we didn't think it would be a problem.

This was the view out our window when we arrived.

  1. I'm not sure that going north is a good option at the moment with that big storm going from Montana all the way to Wisconsin but maybe where you are it won't be so bad. We are staying south as long as we can and just slowly making our way out of Texas. We may end up have a couple of long driving days towards the end but we had enough of the cold weather on our way down last fall.

Hope all goes well for you guys.

    1. We actually missed any storm fronts other than a little bit of wind. It is certainly going to be cold in Alberta but warm kid and grand kid hugs will make up for that.
